Beighton                   Allotments

Welcome to Beighton Allotment Association

(Orchard Lane, Sheffield)

The Beighton Allotment Association is a private allotment site that is run by four Trustees, overseen by a Committee with major changes normally ratified at an annual AGM.

There are approximately 130 plots spread over a six acre site. We currently have a waiting list of around 20 people with a waiting time of approximately 18 months. Plots are allocated on a first come, first served basis. Our rents are currently £25.00 per annum.

HOW TO GET A PLOT AT BEIGHTON ALLOTMENTS

To obtain a plot at Beighton Allotments, you need to complete an application form which can either be downloaded from our website on the Membership-Application Form page, or a paper copy can be obtained from the allotment shop. National Lottery Fund Announcement

The Trustees and Committee would like to thank Sarah Vause and Richard Longden for all the work put into a recent £20,000 grant application to the National Lottery to replace the existing shop and meeting shed.

Sarah, (Committee Member responsible for fund raising), has been working on this application for some time now which is for a steel container based meeting area and shop combination which will allow us to have 16 x 20ft area to:-

1) Hold meetings

2) Prepare hot & cold drinks

3) Shelter volunteers & visitors to plot B6

4) Be a meeting place to chat while the shop is open.

And an additional 8 x 20ft lockable shop area:-

1) Will be the cashier area for the items in the existing containers

2) Will allow us to mount shelves and have smaller items permanently on display.

The Committee are pleased to announce that we have recently had confirmation that this application has been successful and that in the new year, we will start getting the final quotations from the fabricators we contacted for the initial application.

We would very much like to thank the National Lottery for the funding of this new meeting space, to Richard Longden for his help in getting the specifications together for the quotations and a special thank you to Sarah Vause for instigating and completing this successful application.

Garden Inspections 2025

We will be having three garden inspections this year which will take place during the last week of March, June and September, however please ensure your plot complies with the rules at all times as gardens which are not kept in a good condition and cultivated may get a letter to improve (which could lead to an eviction)  at any time.

Excellent Veg is grown all over our site!

The cucumbers aren't bad either!

Some gardeners specialise in flowers....

For others, its a home from home!
